THE DAY AFTER THE FULL MOON
The last 2 weeks or 2.5months if you like has taken its toll so we’ve agreed to take a night or 2 off before going to NZ and the boys are heading to Vietnam. Originally planned to stay until the 5th but not much point in waiting if I’m not hitting the drink.
TIME TO LEAVE THE ISLANDS
Jason told me he was heading home tomorrow but I warned him I’ve only got back from the full moon 5hours ago so I’d meet him for some food. That was until he bought me a Beer with my curry so another session it was that night.
Beer number 847,397. Leaving Koh Tao for the last time
Jason and his buddy Sam have been to Koh Tao that often they know the owner of the resort so the drinks are pretty cheap when in their company. I think the owner is a regular in the Thai richlist. There isn’t much point in owning a bicycle on that island let alone the Lamborghini she has. As much as Jason is a top lad he’s a shocking influence!
ON IT AGAIN
The next day I managed to get a boat out of Koh Tao as another night would have killed me. Though it didn’t make a difference as Aled and Phil were in Bangkok and that’s were I was heading. You honestly can’t get away from it and considering I’m going to NZ for a month I don’t expect any respite there either. It was our last night before heading our separate ways so out again for a few Changs, by far my favourite beer. It would need to be considering the amount of it I’ve consumed.

BANGKOK
This time we stayed in a different part of Bangkok and you wouldn’t believe what they sell on the stalls, everything from 9″ blades to Viagra to well lets just say you name it they had it. There was a 50 year old man in the middle of the street looking through a “special” collection of DVDs, which fair enough if that’s what you want. Bought myself a few (proper movies though) which will turn out to be worth the 50p I paid for them!
FINAL THOUGHTS
What a time I had in Thailand to start my trip. If any of the next countries I go to are half as good then I’ll be happy. Read the reflection post here.
NEXT UP
New Zealand tomorrow and just noticed on Facebook I’ve a Ballymena friend (Owen) I met in Oz living in Auckland now, haven’t spoke to him since Oz but texted him saying I’m arriving tomorrow so hopefully catch him for a drink. Also Carlos who I travelled with on the islands is about there too which is good. Click to read.
