Luxembourg

A quaint little village meets a fantasy castle perched on a cliff face

Hallo! Welcome to Luxembourg, where the national language really is ‘Luxembourgish’. What a name. The centre of the EU, both financially and politically, Luxembourg sits between Belgium, France and Germany. Despite its status, Luxembourg is the least populated country in Europe, with somewhere in the region of 600,000 inhabitants. Most of the country is rural, with rolling hills, rivers and forests. Luxembourg city is built around a Unesco-listed old town, with a veritable warren of cobbled streets and drinking holes at its centre. There’s also a great food scene. There would have to be, with politicians and journalists from all over the EU around all work week for lunch and dinner meetings! If you want to see the political heart of the EU (tip: the work-crowds thin at the weekends, and hotel prices drop too), and maybe visit a few museums and take a few fantastically scenic hikes, VISIT LUXEMBOURG!
