SO THIS IS WHAT THAILAND IS ALL ABOUT?

After a lengthy boat and bus journey we have just arrived at Phuket and Carlos is getting his tooth fixed after a girl accidentally head butted him instead of hugging it out. Checked into A Festa hostel and even though we haven’t seen the place, the walk to the hostel made us pray to god we only need to stay a night. But I doubt he’s going to walk in and get an appointment on the same day, so it might be a day or 2 more.

PING PONG BALLS WERE THE LEAST OF HER WORRIES

WHERE IS PHUKET?

Carlos is sorted for tomorrow so he needs to take it easy tonight, just had a wonder. Place is very much like Benidorm, everyone just hear for a drink. The walking street (closed for traffic at night) is crazy. Few drinks but generally taking it easy.

Patong beach in Phuket, Thailand. My first ping pong show

Patong beach isn’t bad but can get real busy

The day day his appointment went pretty well, so we’ve booked the boat to koh phi phi tomorrow, really looking forward to it, heard good things (AGAIN). One Thailand bucketlist item I haven’t ticked off yet is the Ping Pong show so we are doing a little investigating and trying to find it. I love when people try and con me or take the hand out of me, it happens everyday in Thailand but only if you let them.

We got in half price (a few hundred Bhat) to The Ping Pong show, which is actually located just off walking street so was pretty handy. We didn’t order any drinks as you’re just asking for trouble when it comes to paying the bill so we took our seat and tried to enjoy the show. This is Carlos’ 2nd show so he’s getting a bit of a rep for himself along this neck of the woods.

IT’S SHOW TIME

The show was interesting lets say and I have no idea why they call it a ping pong show when there was only 1 or 2 ping pongs involved. The girls would take their turns and once prepped would come out onto the stage to reveal what they had hidden inside them. It all started very tasteful for one of a better word when the first lady drew a message with a pen and paper then a length of ribbon from the next before flowers on a string. From here it took a nasty turn, pins on a string, razor blades on the string, blowing out candles on a cake and lit and smoked a full ciggie.

People were in complete disbelief and that was before she handed out ballons for us to hold above our heads. We all then knew what was going down when she took out a pea shooter and fired darts at the ballons. This was followed by fish, 3 terrapin (small turtles), hamster and a budgie. The final peace was opening a bottle of water pouring it inside and then revealing coke, of which a gentleman kindly had a drink of. Different experience but if I am honest I wouldn’t go back, although the girls and smiling at everyones reaction I just didn’t get a nice feeling about it. I was genuinely expecting a couple of ping pong balls to fly about and that be it! Taxi and boat booked for tomorrow.

FINAL THOUGHTS

An experience yes for sure, would I go back, no. I’ve heard some horror stories about getting ripped off at the one in bangkok. The thing is that you need to get a taxi or a tuktuk to the venue so you are a lot more vulnerable to a scam once you are being taken out of the area you are familiar with. My recommendation would be not to go but if you insist then be sure to go to the one at Patong Beach

Sorry for the late reply! It was in Phuket at the far end of Patong walking street (away from the beach) to the left. Lots of locals back then offering it to you. Tbh I wouldn’t go again as it didn’t give me a great feeling
