THE THAILAND SERIES REFLECTION POST
BANGKOK – RAILAY BEACH – AO NANG – PATTAYA – BANGKOK
The Thailand series reflection post. I’m going to try and write this in the plane without crying. We haven’t even got Bangkok out of view and I’m near gushing already.
IS THAILAND NUMBER ONE FOR ME?
Every time I do a reflection post I always comment on the trip being one of the best in recent times and it was, it was excellent, beyond all expectations. I spent a long time in Bangkok, I love it there and I actually thought I knew the city but this trip showed me how much there is actually to do.
WHERE IS THAILAND?
Thailand
MONSOON SEASON
This trip has for sure been one of my favourites to Thailand, everything worked out so much better than I thought. Before going one of the main concerns was the time of year and the weather you can encounter during June/July but it turned out to be indifferent to my other trips.
TRIP STATS….
- DAYS – 17
- COUNTRIES – 1
- NEW COUNTRIES – 0
- REVISITS – 1
- HIKES – 2
- FLIGHTS – 6 & BUSES – 3, Including 1 broken one.
- STEPS – 248,855
- MILES TRAVELLED – 13,226.5 miles
NOT TAKING THINGS EASY
I usually see as much as I can while away but in Thailand I often prefer chilling out, having a Chang and not stressing out too much. It might mean a few less beers the night before and an earlier morning but this time I made an effort to see as much as I could, visit the temples, the markets, rock climb and have enjoyed every minute.

DIVERSE
When it comes to things to do to fill your day there is no country in the world that comes close to Thailand and not matter if you are interested in history, food, nightlife or meeting friends you can do it all here and it’s in abundance. That’s why I’m able to come back here over the past 7 years and continue to have new experiences.
