HOW TO VISIT EVERY COUNTRY IN THE WORLD

How to visit every country in the world is a question I get asked all the time and by far the most difficult. However, it got me thinking, why not create something to help others who have the same ambitions? Something I know I would have benefitted from.

I never set out from the start to visit every country and if I knew what it was going to take I probably wouldn’t have started. But with my eGuide you will have an incredible advantage early on, meaning you can learn from each and every one of my mistakes. If visiting every country isn’t for you but you still have a passion for travelling then I would still recommend it, after all it’s free!

IS IT POSSIBLE TO VISIT EVERY COUNTRY IN THE WORLD?

Only 300 people have completed the feat which is half the amount of people who have visited outer space, let that give you an idea of how difficult it can be. But with the right plan and research it is achievable for anyone but it won’t be without it’s obstacles, most of which are addressed in the eGuide.

THE EGUIDE IS FOR ANYONE:
  • With a passion for travelling
  • Those wanting to learn new ways of saving more money
  • Worried about travelling solo
  • Unsure if travelling is safe
  • Wanting to learn how to make your money go further for longer
  • Keen to know how to make savings on accom and flights
  • Wanting to know how I travel
  • To learn that for every problem there’s a solution
  • Or maybe you just want to know what’s involved in visiting every country

So whether you are just starting your travels, want to travel more often or have a passion to visit every country in the world, then this eGuide is for you.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO VISIT EVERY COUNTRY IN THE WORLD?

There are many factors which affect this, such as how well you are able to save, at what speed you want to travel and if like me you plan to keep a full time job. I tend to stick around long enough to visit some sites, meet some locals and eat a load of food before moving on. However, if a country presents significant dangers then a few days might just be enough. I’ve also done my fair share of long term travel such as 3 months in the Philippines or 6 months in Australia so its not unheard of to taking between 10 and 20 years for this. However if you have money on your side and see little point in spending longer than a day in each country then you could try to beat the record of just over 3 years!

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO VISIT EVERY COUNTRY IN THE WORLD

This is a hard one and the majority of the time it can be done on a shoestring budget but there are several conditions. That you travel slow, by land, stay in cheap accommodation and eat local food. Which to be honest all makes for a better experience.

There are at times expenses which you will not be able to avoid; such as pricey visas, the odd bribe, flights and countries which require you to travel as part of a tour.

So if you take your time it can be affordable, however if you wish to do it over the course of 4 or 5 years then expect to pay considerably more.

SAVING – HOW TO VISIT EVERY COUNTRY IN THE WORLD

The key to travelling is having the funds in place. Travelling has gotten so much more affordable and you no longer need a small fortune to fly to the other side of the world.

Some people will be able to save better than others but there are plenty of hints and tips to help you with this. As I travel so often, I had to get creative in the ways of saving and they continue to stand me in good stead to this day.

After you set a savings goal it is important to cut your out goings, everything from your broadband (cheaper provider), to nights out and those online shopping sprees that are all too convenient these days. I don’t ever recommend to cut these out entirely but there is always a cheaper alternative to finding a happy medium.

PLAN & RESEARCHING – HOW TO VISIT EVERY COUNTRY IN THE WORLD

Now the fun part of planning your logistics, visas and most importantly your what to dos. I could spend months researching my destination to make sure all my ducks are in order so I’m not dealt with any surprises when I set off.

Depending on your destination will depend on how much planning you need to do. Veer off the beaten path and you will really need to have your itinerary set out but head to the likes of Thailand or Europe and you can expect to have more flexibility.

STAY SAFE WHILE VISITING EVERY COUNTRY IN THE WORLD

“Are you crazy, what if something happens, I’m worried about you!” They are all common phrases I hear from friends and family who are just looking out for me. But what most people don’t know is that a lot of the places I visit are safer than what we experience at home. The world is generally a safe place and people love to help. If on the rare occasion you do find yourself in trouble then you just need to find the courage to reach out and ask someone. There is no better person to ask for help than a local and I have yet to meet one who isn’t willing.

FINAL THOUGHTS

There’s no hiding the fact that visiting every country in the world is a lot of effort but it’ll be one of the most incredible journeys you can do! For me it was never a plan at the start, I would have never signed up like that, but as I slowly ticked more and more countries off, I began to realise it might be possible. Who knows after your next few trips you might find yourself in the same boat?

If you ever consider doing the same be sure and drop me a line on IG, I’d love to hear where you’re at with it.
