Ancient hut-cities meet extremely pleasant landscapes
Bonjour, and welcome to Togo. This coastal West African country is pleasantly far-flung in terms of tourism spots, and yet it has a lot to offer. Rolling hills decorated with lush forest are a gift to hikers, eventually flattening out into dryer savannah that is also very walkable. The coast has lovely, palm-fringed beaches, and the capital, Lome, is home to a grand bazaar and a fetish market at which traditional talismans used in religious ceremonies can be bought. It might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but if you want a DIY holiday somewhere beautiful, and an authentic look at some African history and culture sounds worth the hassle of getting around and a bit of bartering, then VISIT TOGO!
