THE DISPUTED SERIES, DAY 3
GEORGIA
My tour guide getting his dates wrong… By 12 months! Initially, I’ve been slightly concerned at the lack of contact from the agent who booked the trip for me. Furthermore, the agent hasn’t replied over the past few days to confirm a pick-up time and location. Now, it’s 11 am on the first day of the trip.
YOU FU*KING WHAT?
Assuming the pick-up time was 9am, I made an effort to Facebook message the guy and got a reply fairly quickly.
“Consequently, he said, “WhatsApp me on this number please.”
“I am in Georgia, where is the guide?” I replied
I only booked the trip maybe 7-10days ago but I received the following response,
“I thought you meant next year.” 🤦🏻♂️🤣
WHERE IS ABKHAZIA?
GET OVER IT
As a result, it was quite clear it wasn’t going to happen, so I just tried my best to move on and forget about it. Nevertheless, it’s frustrating as I’ve spent the time and money to get here; however, I’ve gotten over worse.
After rushing around and trying to see pretty much all of Tbilisi, I now have another few days to kill before my flight to Yerevan.
STILL EXPLORING
Subsequently, I spent the rest of the day strolling around town at a leisurely pace. Exploring the winding streets of the old town, which I hadn’t discovered before, delighted me; indeed, it was quite enchanting. Tbilisi is very easy on the eye; moreover, its charm is undeniable. Following that, I ventured to the Museum of Illusions, which was brilliant. Once the Museum of Illusions blew my mind, I eventually returned to the hostel.
FINAL THOUGHTS
Although it was not the day I was expecting, when you can’t do anything, it’s best to get on with your trip. After all, it’s too easy to let this ruin your experience.
