DAY 16, KIWI EXPEREINCE
FERGBURGER OR DEVIL BURGER
The Most Famous Burger in the World. There is a world famous burger bar in Queenstown called Fergburger, it’s won a load of awards and it has been recommended to me from as far away as Thailand, its iconic. The menu is incredible and it has every topping imaginable so the options are endless.
THE OPTIONS WERE ENDLESS
Nancy boy (the bus driver) pointed it out when we arrived into Queenstown and there is regularly a queue that goes out the door. I would like to say there is really no other burger quite like it but someone made the insane suggestion that a little place called Devil Burger is better! After after asking him if he’s on drugs it turns out he was right! Between the two rests I had 5 burgers just to be sure!
WHERE IS QUEENSTOWN?
Most famous burger in the world
GONDOLA AND POPPING CISTS
I went up to the gondola today and rode the luge with Erin, a mad girl from England. The luge is basically a homemade go-kart on a downhill track. It was a good laugh and cheaper than another bungee jump. Later on, Rianna, a Swiss girl, got a bite or a cyst (the doctors couldn’t even tell which) a week ago, and it’s been getting worse. She needed her hand held while the doctor squeezed it. Apparently, it had improved, but after the doctor finished, there was a hole in her hip nearly an inch wide.
SMALL WORLD
Sitting in the hostel some fella sits down and starts talking away to me, it’s only the Canadian lad from my hostel room in Auckland, he’s been down here for 2 weeks working, small world but glad he’s not in my room as his feet stank.
Out again for the usual catch up with today’s bus load, Laura and millie, the 2 Danish girls I was with for a bit arrive and I think a few people are leaving tomorrow so there’ll be a few different excuses for a drink. Got drunk
JETBOAT RIDE
Been trying to get myself onto another swing called the canyon swing, everyone thinks I’ve some sort of problem doing all the activities here but apparently the guys there really mess with you so I was interested in giving myself more mental stress along with another hangover. Unfortunately they had no room so I signed up to do the canyon jet boat ride with some of the Irish guys.
Got to the place, dressed up and about to jump into the boat when they cancelled. Apparently the rain can make it too painful and with the boat going 80km, nobody wants a black eye. My last night tonight and can’t say no to another few drinks on a pub crawl ending at the ice bar. Got drunk and had a Fergburger as I was leaving tomorrow. Queenstown is insane!
FINAL THOUGHTS
Turns out Queenstown is as good as everyone said it was and I can see why so many people end up staying there!
