THE SOUTHERN AMERICAN SERIES PT9
BUENOS AIRES, ARGENTINA
I was back in Buenos Aires again after an amazing time in Rio. I have to admit, Rio will be hard to beat, but I had also heard great things about Buenos Aires and especially about Milhouse Hostel.
This part of my journey really shaped my overall Buenos Aires travel experience, mainly because of the people I met and the atmosphere I found in the city.
WHERE I STAYED – MILHOUSE HOSTEL
I stayed at the famous Milhouse Hostel Buenos Aires, which is well known for its social atmosphere and energetic party vibe, making it one of the most popular hostels in the city.
As far as hostels go, this one was one of the best I’ve stayed in.
As usual, I quickly met a few people after arriving — Max, Karla, and John. They were some of the most chilled-out travelers I’ve met.
The hostel itself had everything a backpacker could need. The only thing missing was a beach. It also offered plenty of activities like day trips, football matches (River or Boca), and even polo experiences.
WHERE IS BUENOS AIRES?
Buenos Aires is the capital city of Argentina.
It’s a huge city with a mix of European-style architecture, cultural experiences, and lively neighbourhoods.

MILHOUSE HOSTEL
There are some hostels you hear about while traveling the backpacker trail. Like me, it doesn’t matter if you’re on a different continent—if people’s first recommendation is to stay at a hostel, you know it’s going to be a good one.
NEW YEAR’S EVE IN BUENOS AIRES
Karla and John had a local contact who invited us to a rooftop apartment party.
It turned into a relaxed but unforgettable night, including a Rooftop pool party in Buenos Aires, which made the whole celebration feel even more special.
We spent most of the night in the pool, talking, laughing, and enjoying the New Year without any rush or pressure. We didn’t take many photos because we were just enjoying the moment.
TIME WITH FAMILY IN BUENOS AIRES
After another fun week at Milhouse Hostel, my family joined me in Buenos Aires.
We spent a few days exploring the city before starting our cruise. During this time, we took a city tour, visited La Bombonera Stadium, and attended a beautiful tango show in Buenos Aires, which was one of the trip’s cultural highlights of the trip.
