Grenada

Nutmeg meets white sands

Hello, and welcome to Grenada. English is the official language here, but both English and French creole is also spoken. The nickname ‘the spice island’ was earned long ago, when Grenada was part of many trading routes, but it still fits today. You can practically (sometimes literally) smell the nutmeg here, and even visit a nutmeg processing plant run by a co-operative in Gouyave. The spice was, after all, once a resource which built and destroyed great nations. If that doesn’t sound appealing, there are swathes of long, thin sandy beaches or luscious green hills where fruit is grown in abundance. Or the rum distilleries tour, of course… If you’re looking for the bounties of nature, Caribbean cuisine and maybe a lazy sail to an island of sand, then VISIT GRENADA!
