Colonial splendor meets urban grit

Hola! This is Guatemala. From chicken buses, street food and the budget hostels and eco lodges of the Gringo Trail to the relaxing hippy vibes of Lake Atitlan and the grit of Guatemala City, Guatemala has a whole hell of a lot to offer. The capital isn’t visited as much as it should be, but if you want to see urban reality clash with Spanish colonial architecture, and maybe get a beer under a bull’s head in a bar loved by Che Guevara then you should swing by. Antigua is the beauty queen, and where most US tourists begin and end their journey. Look a little further, and you’ll find belching volcanoes, welcoming locals and some of the best food on the continent. If you don’t mind awful roads, and you want to see a little more of Central America than just coastal resorts, then VISIT GUATEMALA!
