THE MIDDLE EAST & EUROPEAN SERIES PT6

PRISTINA, KOSOVO – ISTANBUL, TURKEY

Back in Europe now and the end of my 2 year trip is getting closer and closer.

IT’S CLEAR KOSOVO HAS COME A LONG WAY IN THE LAST FEW DECADES.

On my way to Istanbul I decided to stop off at Kosovo and see what one of the newest countries in the world had to offer.

WHERE IS KOSOVO?

KOSOVO

With its conflict and ongoing dispute with Serbia, it’s safe to say Kosovo has a colourful past. However, I couldn’t help but be impressed by how far it has come, especially as the war was so recent. Visiting Kosovo would not have been a thought of by many but with it’s brand new airport, café culture, stunning hikes or the national library called the ugliest building in Europe!

ISTANBUL

Having been to Istanbul for the first time last year LINK and having been blown away I couldn’t wait to get back. Unfortunately this trip was just for the afternoon between flights. Regardless of the short time I was still able to enjoy my time and it remains high on my list of favourite cities in Europe!
