Ancient walled cities clinging to the shoreline meets one of the warmest welcomes in the world.
Zdravo! Welcome to Montenegro. From its swampy lowlands, to its winter ski resorts, winding mountain roads, Mediteranian beaches and white-stone walled city, Montenegro is something of an enigma. A tiny country only about the size of Wales, Montenegro manages to pack a strange amount in. Kotor, the white city on the coast, is Disneyland level beautiful and rustic, but it’s real! And this strip of coast just on the border with Croatia boasts blinding blue seas and soaring summer temps, as well as Venetian architecture. Pretty astounding if you also visit the mountains only a couple of hours away, where steeply-roofed houses have a Scandinavian feel to them. If you want a dip in the Adriatic, followed by a trip to an island that still looks like it did in the 15th Century, then VISIT MONTENEGRO!
