Underground mosques meet the heights of the Altai Mountains
Kazakhstan stretches from the Caspian Sea to the Altai Mountains. Long a land of nomads, and then ruled by the soviets, Kazakhstan has a rich history. Much of it can be followed by visiting museums and monuments in the city of Altamay, an ancient trading hub and the largest metropolis in the country. Altyn Eman National Park is also a solid travel destination, with gorges and rolling sandstone hills. Elsewhere there’s plenty of more traditional mountainous hiking, and the lush green shock of the Tian Shan valley. This is a country for adventurers, whether they want to visit underground mosques or summit craggy peaks. If that sounds like you (or like it could be you) then you’d better VISIT KAZAKHSTAN!
