Seeing the big five meets rafting on white water
Hujambo, and welcome to Uganda. This is the home of Africa’s tallest mountain range, and fittingly, it’s mountain gorillas that bring many visitors to the country. It might take a while, but you can track them through the mists of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park (ominously named, right?). There’s also a reasonable chance of running into a hippo, or any of the big five really, so you’d better be ready to run! For high-voltage travellers, there’s whitewater rafting on the Nile, and if you like things a little slower, why not just float on the continent’s largest lake? Uganda is starting to take animal conservation seriously, which is a positive for a country not yet overrun by tourists looking to tick off natural wonders. If you want to explore its reserves, or maybe visit Kampala and mull over the country’s patchwork history since colonialism carved up Africa, then VISIT UGANDA!
