Drinking in baroque ruin bars meets recovering in thermal hot spring baths
Helló, and welcome to Hungary! The country is best known for Budapest, with its mixture of Baroque and Soviet architecture, semi-legal ruin bars and hot-springs parties, but there’s much more to Hungary than just the capital city. There are alpine hills to wander in, not to mention the national parks of the great plain. Then there’s Pecs, the home of the country’s first university and still an academically rigorous city. You’ll find the remains of Hungary’s Roman civilisation here, alongside the breathtaking Peter and Paul Cathedral and a whole bunch of vineyards. The wine from this region is referred to as ‘bulls blood wine’. Be careful drinking it! If you like lakeside summers, and a rich mix of culture with perhaps just a lashing of goulash, the VISIT HUNGARY!
