Art Nouveau meets ancient castles

Sveiki, and welcome to Latvia. The most clearly modern of the Baltic countries, this younger EU member is enjoying plenty of visitors these days. Both Russian and Latvian is spoken, and the population is divided in nationality post soviet-era. Riga is very bilingual, with signs in both languages. Riga is also the most obvious destination with visitors, and is a boisterous eastern European capital city with the weekend-warrior tourism to prove it. If that’s not your scene, though, there’s plenty of fantastic countryside to visit, with the lakes and forests typical of this part of the world. There are also beaches, small country towns and a few top music festivals to partake in. So, if you want to stride around forested national parks, and explore the Baroque masterpiece that is Rundale Palace, then VISIT LATVIA!
