MAURITIUS, DAY 3&4
The best view of Mauritius. I’m no professional golfer but when you have the opportunity to play at a course on an island you’ve got to take it. We stayed for a week to ensure we didn’t miss any opportunity!
THE UNDERWATER WATERFALL
WHERE IS THE FOUR SEASONS?
THE COURSE
I’ll be honest, as I usually am on here, the golf was sh*t! My golf is inconsistent; I might hit the ball 300 yards or just 30 yards. I was beaten by my dad, who is just as competitive and equally bad at golf. Walking around the course helps distract you from the game. It doesn’t take a golfer to appreciate this course.
CHILL
The rest of the day was pretty chilled with the usual sundowners at the O Bar followed by dinner at Le Bleu. Tomorrow we have a sunrise hike 2hrs down the coast at Le Morne.
BAD START
The day started poorly when the hotel forgot our packed breakfast and lunch. It wasn’t ideal for a 7-hour mountain hike in peak humidity, but they did give us pastries. Just what you need for a hike! At the Four Seasons, you expect perfection, especially in customer service, so it was disappointing they didn’t redeem themselves.
THE HIKE
The hike isn’t overly difficult and possible for people of all levels of fitness, even my mum climbed it (sorry mum). She admits she’s no mountaineer and is terrified of heights, so she shouldn’t have been able to do it. The start can be tough if you’re out of practice, but once warmed up, you’re good to go. We just took our time and its fair to say mum was in pieces after it!
THE GUIDE
A good guide is crucial; they’re happy to spend extra time helping you if you struggle. The last thing you will want is to feel rushed so use a guide that has been recommended to you.
FINAL THOUGHTS
A must do in Mauritius as you will not see a better view on the island
