MAURITIUS, DAY 3&4

I’m no professional golfer but when you have the opportunity to play at a course on an island you’ve got to take it. It was also one of the reasons we decided to stay for a week so as to not miss any opportunity!

THE UNDERWATER WATERFALL

WHERE IS THE FOUR SEASONS?

THE COURSE

I’ll be honest, as I usually am on here, the golf was sh*t! As I said, my golf is very inconsistent and you just wouldn’t know if I’m going to hit the ball 300yards or 30yards. Not to forget that I was beaten by an equally bad golfer in my dad who to be fair is equally as competitive. However, walking around such course sure does help to take your mind off the matter at hand. It doesn’t take a golfer to appreciate this course.

CHILL

The rest of the day was pretty chilled with the usual sundowners at the O Bar followed by dinner at Le Bleu. Tomorrow we have a sunrise hike 2hrs down the coast at Le Morne.

BAD START

The day didn’t get off to the best of starts when we found the hotel forgot our packed breakfast and lunch. Not ideal when it’s a 7 hour day hiking a mountain in peak level humidity but they were kind enough to get us some pastries. Just what you need for a hike! When you stay at a place like the Four Seasons you nearly expect everything to be perfect, after all its the customer service you are paying for so it was a shame little was done to redeem themselves.

THE HIKE

The hike isn’t overly difficult and possible for people of all levels of fitness, even my mum climbed it (sorry mum). She will be the first to tell you she’s no mountaineer and scared shitless of heights so in reality she shouldn’t have been able to do it. Don’t let the start put you off as it can be quite difficult if you are out of practice, but once you are warmed up you’re good to go. We just took our time and its fair to say mum was in pieces after it!

THE GUIDE

Another important factor is always the guide, if you struggle or need help then the better guides are always happy to spend more time in giving you all help you need. The last thing you will want is to feel rushed so use a guide that has been recommended to you.

FINAL THOUGHTS

A must do in Mauritius as you will not see a better view on the island
