A country healing meets ancient treasures
As-salam alaikum, welcome to Syria, a country beginning to heal. Syria is still incredibly dangerous, but once it was a huge tourist destination. Ancient sites like Petra and Amman drew visitors from all over, and speakers of many languages hid from the midday sun drinking sweetened tea in souks. In 2020, it’s just beginning to open up again, but what is left is war-torn still, and a humanitarian crisis is in full swing. If you want to see a country beginning to rebuild, and hear stories of what has passed, then think about visiting Syria.
