DUBAI
STAYING ON THE PALM IN DUBAI
Staying on the palm in Dubai has always been a dream of mine since they were built in the early 2000s. So when I heard a friend had family out there I reach out to try and meet up.
THERE ARE FEW PLACES ON EARTH WHICH CAN COMPETE WITH THESE VIEWS!
Wray and George were brilliant, they offered me to come stay and had a driver pick me up at the airport – a far cry from my lifestyle from the previous 7 months!
WHERE IS DUBAI?
Staying on the palm in Dubai
DUBAI
Dubai is a funny place, I’ve never so sure what to make out of it but my few days here were epic. George and Wray were staying on the Palm which was just another level of luxury and not something I was used to.
Dubai doesn’t have a centre as such and finds itself spread across the city which means getting around involves a taxi or a car. George was keen to show me around which made seeing Dubai pretty easy and meant I didn’t have to do much research!
BAR 360
They showed me everything from the old town to the new city where we had dinner in front of the Burj Khalifa. Not to mention the huge shopping centre (at the time the largest in the world), indoor ski slope and a few drinks at Bar 360 beside the Burj Al Arab!

FINAL THOUGHTS
There was no better way to finish my 7 months travelling than here in Dubai with George, Wray and family. I couldn’t fault their hospitality and generosity as I had barely to lift a finger the few days I was there, it was heaven. If you want to read over my reflection post of Australia, click here.
