HITTING A COW ON THE WEST COAST ROAD TRIP!
Hitting a cow on the west coast road trip was never part of the plan but when do my travels ever go the way they should?
I DIDN’T KNOW WHAT WAS IN A WORSE STATE, THE VAN OR THE COW!
After a few weeks in Indonesia Ben headed off home and myself and Kai met up with Dennis & Owen, 2 German and Irish lads we knew from the east coast. The idea was to rent a camper van and take it as far as we could up north before coming back down again.
WHERE IS EXMOUTH?

WEST COAST
I found the east and west coasts very different. The east was all about the activities, meeting other travellers and getting on the goon. Whilst the west was more laid back, quieter and better
There aren’t many bad beaches in Australia but the west has the pick of them. Unlike the east coast we pretty much had most of the beaches to ourselves but it suited us, 6 months of carnage on the east coast was enough!

EXMOUTH
With the flexibility of having a campervan we were able to stop as and when we wanted. It was brilliant to stop at some of the smaller hicky towns and getting chatting to the locals who live in the middle of nowhere. A few stops I do remember is dolphins at Monkey Mia and Kalbarri National Park where we got a boat over to a hike that lead to natures window, one of the most popular attractions in this region.

THE COW
I was heading home via Dubai so I needed to cut my road trip short and fly to Perth from Exmouth as it was looking too tight to make it in the van. It was only when I was about to leave Perth that I got a photo from the boys. It was of a dead cow who had clearly jumped out into the path of the van, lucky escape for me!

A great way to end my trip around Australia and happy I checked out the west coast!
