SNEAKING INTO THE AUSTRALIAN OPEN FINAL
I took a flight from Sydney to Melbourne where everyone I had ever met on the east coast seemed to be headed!
WE KNEW THE GUY WAS ONTO US!
If ever was a time to visit Australia then this was it. The Ashes is only ever here once ever 4 years and England might win 1 in 3 or 4 of those.

Now that it’s January and we are in Melbourne the Australian open has begun we have decided to make use of all the free time by seeing as much of it as possible.

SNEAKING IN
Now, I’m not going to give away any of my secrets or indict myself so I have to be pretty vague. But anyway, we sneaked in no questions asked but with on one problem….we didn’t have a seat. Fortunately at the open you can’t move around in the middle of games which meant we could sit anywhere but we had to leave it as late as possible so the actual ticket owner of that seat couldn’t return. At the end of each game we would have to get up and slowly walk around until the next game started by then choosing another few free seats!

ESCAPE
We were approached several times and asked for our tickets – which we showed so the stewards were definitely onto us. The pattern continued until it was clear Andy Murray was going to lose. Harm had his eye on the head of security more than the tennis 🤣 and eventually we made the call to leave when he started to make a beeline for us. So we took the nearest exited and turned the opposite direction, job done!
FINAL THOUGHTS
It wasn’t the most relaxed I’ve felt while watching a game of tennis but it made it all the more entertaining!
