BONDI BEACH
XMAS & NYE IN BONDI
As with any trip I am away for, I plan it around Xmas and new Year as more often than not I know where I want to be and from the off I was always going to spend Xmas & NYE in Bondi, Sydney.
A TURKEY SANDWICH WASN’T THE CHRISTMAS DINNER I HAD IN MIND
I wasn’t without my options either as Sydney tends to be the place for backpackers to spend the festive period.

XMAS EVE CRUISE
Sydney is a city with plenty of options but when it comes to Xmas eve there is only 1 thing you should do, Sydney Harbour cruise! There isn’t just one, the harbour is full of boats with backpackers, couples and families all enjoying a different experience, depending on what they signed up to.

CHRISTMAS ON THE BEACH
One thing I always knew before arriving to Australia was that I would be spending my Christmas Day on Bondi Beach. But little did I know the spread we would be given. A coleslaw bap was the order of the day and nothing told me, you’re away from your family than this!
SUNBURNT FESTIVAL
Anyway the day just got better and better and after lounging around the beach for a few hours we made for Sunburnt, the infamous festival inside the Bondi Pavilion. The weather was perfect, tunes were great and company the best!

NYE & GUETTA
After plenty more nights out in between it was now time for the highlight of Oz, or so we thought! New Years in Sydney is famous as it is generally the first big party to happy across the world. The in thing to do is find a spot at the fireworks and sit back and enjoy and in hindsight that was the right thing to do. But we decided to get tickets for a festival on Bondi called Shore Thing to watch David Guetta and Armand van Helden. It wasn’t bad, it was just far too busy, so getting a drink or finding your friends was next to impossible here and most of the night just didn’t go as planned. Sorry Harm as I know you wanted to watch the fireworks!

FINAL THOUGHTS
As I say anytime I am away during Xmas or New Year, it is less about what you do and more about who you are with. However, when you spend most of NYE looking for your pals instead of being able to enjoy it then you can forgive me for regretting it.
