Vatican City

The world to come meets some of history’s most breathtaking art

Salve, and welcome to Vatican City. Famous as the home of the Papa himself, most tourism to this tiny state in the middle of Rome is religious. You wouldn’t imagine it, but 1,000 people actually live within the hallowed walls of the city or claim citizenship, many of them involved in the diplomatic services of the Holy See. All the city’s residents are, apparently, worshipping Catholics. Founded in the early 16th Century, the City’s museums hold several of the best examples in the world of Renaissance art. If you’re looking for a religious experience like no other, or want to feast your eyes on Italianate gardens for hours on end, VISIT THE VATICAN!
