Beach parties meet Amazon adventures

Bom dia! Welcome to Brazil. This huge, Portugese speaking South American powerhouse of culture is a must-visit for all intrepid travellers. Two-thirds of the country’s population live on or near the beach, so beach parties and cities nosing up to the sea are the norm. Brazilians are also largely city dwellers, and there are even metropolises in the Amazon rainforest. You can, of course, get away from the hustle and bustle however, whether you want to tek through the steamy Amazon or hike in the mountains. Brazilians refer to them as ‘Swiss’! Carnaval is the centre of the social calendar in Brazil, but there’s always something going on, especially in Rio and Sao Paulo. And, for LGBT+ travellers, the country has some of the most open attitudes to sexuality in the region.
